How We Handle Requests

Every request from a public authority is handled under our internal Law Enforcement & Public Authority Request Policy:

Legality review. No data is produced before the request's legal sufficiency is reviewed — the requesting authority, the legal instrument used, its scope, and its jurisdiction.
Challenge where unlawful. We challenge requests that appear legally deficient, overbroad, or unlawful before complying.
Data minimization. If a valid request must be honored, we disclose only the minimum data legally required — never full accounts or broad categories where a narrower response suffices.
User notification. We notify affected users before producing their data, unless we are legally prohibited from doing so.
Documentation. Every request, our legal assessment, and the outcome are permanently logged.

Scope

This report does not cover routine, user-initiated matters such as data deletion requests (see Data Deletion Instructions) or account support. It covers compelled or requested disclosure to government authorities only.
